We received word recently from a friend of Sean’s that Sean is currently on hunger strike and has been placed in a suicide cell.
Although details are still murky, we know that Sean has been without food since December 26th 2016. He was charged with extortion of a deputy warden and had begun a disciplinary process when he began his hunger strike and was placed in a suicide cell.
We know that the prison is recognizing his hunger strike and following the associated procedures, which include taking him to the medical unit every day and weighing him and taking his vital signs. It is unclear whether they are attempting to negotiate with him in any way.
Please take a moment to write a letter of encouragement to Sean:

On the night of the 5th of january I paid a visit to the hambach open cast browncoal mine close to Aachen. My goal was to destroy the railroad tracks with a load of thermite i stole from an other industrial company.
Thermite burns around 2500 degrees celcius and the steel of the tracks melts around 1500 degrees celcius so the thermite does a lot of damage when ignited properly.
I chose the location so it would hurt them most, at the part whare the train can switch to the other track since this part is one of a kind and they have to make a new one on site. When i got there i setted everything up after checking the target and my escape root, the termite i put in 2 plantpots with hole in the bottom to guide the molten mixture to the right place. The stuff is easy to ignite with sparklers which you can get anywhere around newyears but to be sure it all goes up i put around 20 in each spot. I placed the devices and set it ablaze, just in the moment i lighted the 2nd one i saw the hadlichts of an train comming my way. I had plenty of time to get some space between me and the molten mixture and watch the train driving into one of the pots. The tracks and front weel was covered in the burning thermite and making a repetetive noise of the wheels hitting the damaged spot.
After one last look at this spectacle i got my ass out of there.

ONE YEAR THEMISTOKLEOUS 58 SQUAT
On January 10th 2017, Themistokleous 58 Squat in Exarchia completed one year of activity. During this year our squat took a series of initiatives towards intensifying social war, and participated in numerous actions in support of projects and individuals targeted by repression of all authority.
We have put forward internationalist anarchic solidarity between rebels, believing that it can only be a reciprocal relationship aimed at building up affinity and complicity against the State, Capital and domination, and we continue to do so by factually tearing down phony divisions based on origin, language, gender, sexual orientation and religious or irreligious background of anyone in any way associated with our project.
We have stood up against the diffuse patriotism and racism (both overt and covert), and refused to discriminate against those who migrate on the basis of the status attributed to them by the authorities (refugees vs. non-refugees). We have sought to interlace the struggle against the control and repression of migration with a comprehensive, practical critique against the complex of domination, which is fragmenting and isolating any liberatory attempts to weaken and suppress them more easily.
We have shielded the anti-institutional character of our project by all means necessary, keeping the squat and its activities free from the presence and influence of NGOs, media and any intermediary. We have defended our political autonomy without altering the fundamental characteristics of our combative community. At the same time, we chose to meet with others on paths of multiracial clashes, working together whenever and wherever we considered that the respective political and organizational framework corresponded with our goals.
Themistokleous 58 Squat is both an anarchic political project and a housing space for people with or without papers. It is a subversive laboratory of theory and praxis, but also a place where individuals live and struggle together on the basis of self-organization, equal participation, horizontality, mutual aid and direct action. After one year of operation of the project, the experiences gained (both positive and negative) during the experiment of the 58 are a legacy of struggle valuable to us for the battles to come.
We invite everyone to join us on Saturday January 14th at 21:00 outside the 58 for a demonstration on the streets of Exarchia. We do not forget Shahzad Luqman, a migrant from Pakistan who was murdered by neo-Nazi scum in the Athens neighborhood of Ano Petralona in January 2013. We do not forget the thousands of migrants who were beaten, imprisoned, deported or assassinated by the world of states and their borders.
To support the project financially, join us on Saturday January 21st from 21:00 for a solidarity party at the 58; with live music performances by REZA ASKI (voice/guitar, from Iran) and SIMO (rap, from Morocco), DJ sets, food and drinks.

Banner hung by the anarchist squat Utopia A.D. in Komotini, northern Greece: “Six-year-old captive; the hatred is growing; cops–judges–media filth, murderers”
Today, Sunday January 8th 2017, after a new prosecutor’s order, temporary custody of Lambros-Viktoras Maziotis Roupas was given to the grandmother on his mother’s side, so his captivity in the psychiatric unit(!) of the children’s hospital in Athens was finally terminated. The six-year-old child left the hospital escorted by his first-degree relatives.
Meanwhile, there were protests by inmates at Koridallos men’s and women’s prisons, Elaionas women’s prison in Thebes, and Trikala prison.
Revolutionary Struggle members Nikos Maziotis, Pola Roupa and Kostantina Athanasopoulou have interrupted their thirst and hunger strike.
A court will decide on the final custody of the child within six months.
In the early morning hours of January 5th 2017, two Revolutionary Struggle members, fugitive comrade Pola Roupa and anarchist Konstantina Athanasopoulou were captured at a southern suburb of Athens. Anti-terror cops raided a hideout with Pola and her six-year-old son inside, while Konstantina was arrested in another house nearby.
After being forcibly removed from his mother, Lambros-Viktoras Maziotis Roupas—the small son of Revolutionary Struggle members Nikos Maziotis and Pola Roupa—is being held captive inside a children’s hospital guarded by cops(!), without any access to visitations by his close relatives or even the legal representative of his parents.
The Greek authorities, and in particular the public prosecutor for minors Mrs. Nikolou, still refuse to entrust the child to first-degree relatives of Pola Roupa.
In response to this, three Revolutionary Struggle members—the anarchist prisoner Nikos Maziotis, the recaptured comrade Pola Roupa and the newly arrested Konstantina Athanasopoulou—have undergone hunger and thirst strike since January 5th, demanding that the six-year-old be immediately placed with his aunt and grandmother (relatives on his mother’s side).
In an open letter Nikos Maziotis stated, among others, that: “Our son is the child of two revolutionaries, and he’s proud of his parents. We will not succumb to any blackmail. We defend our choices with our very life”.
On January 6th, during the women’s transfer to Evelpidon courts, Pola shouted: “The worms are holding my kid captive at Paidon (children’s hospital in Athens), guarded by armed cops; at the age of six, he is a prisoner of war” and: “Long live the Revolution!”. Furthermore, Pola stated: “I am a revolutionary, and I have nothing to apologize for.”
Below is Konstantina’s statement:
“I am an anarchist, member of the armed revolutionary organization Revolutionary Struggle (Epanastatikos Agonas). The only terrorists are the State and the Capital. I refuse to eat and drink anything until the child of my comrades Pola Roupa and Nikos Maziotis is delivered to relatives of theirs.
On the inside, anarchist prisoners and other inmates at different wings of Koridallos male and female prisons have mounted a joint protest by refusing lock-up, to claim an end to the captivity of Lambros-Viktoras in solidarity with the Revolutionary Struggle prisoners currently on hunger and thirst strike.
On the outside, comrades in various cities throughout Greece have carried out diverse actions in immediate support of the anarchist revolutionaries, demanding that the first-degree relatives of Pola Roupa be granted immediate visitation and custody of the underage child.
Strength to Konstantina Athanasopoulou, Pola Roupa and Nikos Maziotis, proud members of Revolutionary Struggle.
Revolutionary Struggle will neither lay down arms nor surrender to the enemies of freedom.

In the early hours of December 8th 2016, we decided to attack the Church of Prophet Elijah at Olympiados Street in Thessaloniki, setting fire to its entrance and interiors. This act was in solidarity with anarchist prisoners Mónica Caballero and Francisco Solar, accused of an explosive attack at El Pilar cathedral in Zaragoza on October 2nd 2013. In fact, during that period the Catholic Church in Spain had been struck by a series of attacks because of its willingness to limit access to abortions.
Every religion is our enemy. It sustains the status quo, pacifying the society with norms that later become laws. It bases its power on believers’ hopes of a future afterlife, stifling any desire for insurgency today, in the here and now. It justifies war based on cultural differences that religion itself has created.
This is also the role of the church in Greece’s contemporary reality, and beyond. Its all-powerful political role is exercised by its fascist, patriotic, xenophobic rhetoric, always in tandem and direct relation with politicians, cops, judges and journalists.
At the same time it is well-known that the church is constantly trying to expand its economic hegemony and immeasurable wealth, which rests on the possession of huge tracts of land, buildings, etc. With a view to obtaining profits by means of speculation, it sets up a charitable façade which has nothing to do with reality.
Finally, it has a huge social and cultural influence, being a pillar of the patriarchal system. It promotes (both externally and internally) heteronormativity, homophobia, and rape culture in its entirety. Its position on the place of women, sexuality or abortion is indicative of its stance on many such issues.
Solidarity with anarchists held captive in prisons.
During the night of Monday December 19th 2016, a group of comrades decided to slightly heat up the urban winter by setting fire to social peace and apathy.
With just 5 liters of flammable material and infinite hatred of all Power, we took to Patission Street, stopped passing trolley buses and torched them after taking down all passengers and drivers.
Three burned trolley buses, one for each pretrial detention imposed on those arrested during clashes of December 6th 2016 in Athens.
Strength to the anarchist prisoner (CCF member) Panagiotis Argirou, who was recently sentenced by the State to 7 more years of captivity, this time for attempted arson on a bus in 2009.
Fire to the machines and the civilization!

On the 6th of december, again a massive confrontation between anarchists and the police took place in the Athens district of Exarchia. Today, the area around the central square, the „platia“, is a no-go-area for state-servants in uniform. We want to present and discuss some waypoints of this developement. How do people handle that vacuum of power?
The situation in Exarchia can for sure be compared with the situation in Rigaer Straße, to realize the things in common and the differences. Until now, unfortunately mostly our enemies are talking about the lawless area Rigaer Straße. Our task is to create that space to come from the defensive single-issue-conflicts towards an open attack in the context of an international anarchist offensive.

On December 16th 2016, the Supreme Court announced its decision on the appeal filed by the defense of anarchists Francisco Solar and Mónica Caballero, who were each sentenced to 12 years in prison at first instance.
Their sentence was reduced to 4½ years of imprisonment, in addition to 143,317 euros as compensation for damages caused by the explosion at the Basilica of the Pillar in Zaragoza in October 2013.
The two comrades have already served three years, so they have to spend a year and a half more in state cages. But there’s a possibility that, being foreigners, they’ll be released before the completion of the full term and get deported to Chile, since their sentence is now less than six years.
In the evening of Friday December 16th, shortly before 20:00, we decided to pay a visit to the Piraeus Bank branch located at Canningos Sq. After smashing the ATM screen and the windows next to it with a hammer, we poured gasoline on the machine and torched it. Before leaving, we also threw a molotov to the ex ministry of commerce located opposite the bank.
This action is dedicated to the memory of anarchist-nihilist Sebastian Oversluij, who was shot dead by a security guard while attempting to expropriate a BancoEstado branch in Santiago, Chile, on December 11th 2013.
This is also an act of complicity in solidarity with anarchist Tamara Sol Farías Vergara, who is held captive in the Chilean dungeons for taking revenge for the loss of Sebastián by opening fire against another private security guard of the same bank on January 21st 2014.

“Solidarity with the comrades Siao, Hodey and Maya, recently arrested in Germany for defending the Hambach forest!

McDonald’s attacked during the protest of October 18th 2014
On October 18th 2014, from 2pm, an animalistic protest against McDonald’s was held from Plaza Italia to Los Héroes in Santiago.
We calmly marched as a small bloc of punks and anarchists, who joined together with the desire to participate in that protest generating a spontaneous destructive revolt against the industry of plastic food and death of animals. When the crowd (alongside the bloc) reached the corner of Santa Rosa with Alameda St. (where a McDonald’s is located), animalists began shouting at the salaried slaves of that place, who ended up lowering the security shutters. That’s when a few hooded youths and others with faces uncovered (among them the compa Javier Recabarren) started kicking and hitting the shutters with sticks and whatever else they could get their hands on, until they managed to bend a shutter to make their way in through a hole. However, this action was prevented by cops who arrived at that moment, making the comrades disperse among the crowd.
The police, who outnumbered the protesters, began to chase the hooded ones, until two cops caught Javier. Several people tried to de-arrest him, but the cops pushed them away with baton charges, injuring several comrades. This action generated more hatred among the hooded ones towards the disgusting cops, so we rushed to the police checkpoint (where Javier was) and the cop bus, where more compas were detained. In a moment of despair, the cops were unable to control the revolt, and that’s when Javier opened the door and got off the cop car running and mocking the authority, leaving the bastards totally humiliated.
Javier rushed towards the crowd, disappearing in it (most people cowardly advanced without giving aid to what was happening behind; which is typical), while all of the comrades of the small bloc who remained un-arrested scattered. I personally noticed that the cops were desperately searching for someone among the protesters, and that’s when I was approached by Javier and a punk comrade. Javier told me: “sibling, I escaped from the patrol car” and upon saying those words the compa let out a laugh. Then he told me: “… but I’m being followed; they’re still looking for me; cover for me.” When I realized that the comrade was being followed, I immediately told him: “Compa, put yourself next to me to pass unnoticed, and split from your comrade; you’ll meet later in a little square.” And so we walked among the crowd, and as he was small, Javier hid himself between my clothes and the mass. The cops didn’t manage to catch him.
Javier laughed because he told me it was easy to escape from the cops, who idiotically left the door of the car unlocked, but he was a bit anxious as they were looking for him. Shortly afterwards we arrived at the agreed little square and saw that his punk comrade was also able to get away from the cops, as he was there waiting for him.
The grinning smile of Javier Recabarren, having escaped arrest, turns out to be a good subversive memory of revolt against all forms of Power and authority.
JAVIER RECABARREN PRESENT
… in the living memory and action for Total Liberation!
Javier Recabarren, an 11-year-old anarchist comrade, vegan and staunch defender of the struggle for animal liberation, fell dead on March 18th 2015 after being hit by a Transantiago bus on Radal with Alameda St. in Santiago, Chile. To find out more about the comrade’s life, you may read the “Publication in the rebellious and insurgent memory of Javier Recabarren” in Spanish; a fanzine which includes a compilation of words and actions in response to a callout one year after his death.

Other brothers and sisters already said it a couple of years ago, today we reaffirm it. November 1st should be a day of action for animal liberation, hostility towards the enemy, propaganda against domination in all its forms; not a day of festivity for veganism.
In the early morning of November 1st 2016, we put a noise bomb inside a butcher shop in Santiago. We had checked its infrastructure long ago; that place of death of thousands of animals destined for consumption by disgusting humans. A perfect hole served to place our little din of Revenge.
These useless ones know very well why we harass them. The pact between comrades in affinity is already a fact; from here on, the attack won’t stop.
DEATH TO THE SLAUGHTERER, ATTACK THE BUTCHER SHOPS!

The court of Aachen has set the dates for the start of the trial against the two comrades from Barcelona accused of expropriating a branch of Pax-Bank in Aachen in November of 2014. The court case will start on the 23rd of January 2017 and a total of 25 sessions are scheduled.
These two comrades were arrested on respectively 13th of April and 21st of June 2016 in a repressive operation carried out by the Mossos d’Esquadra and the German police, against the social center Blokes Fantasmas and multiple private residences. Since then, the two comrades from Barcelona are being kept in preventative custody in jails in Aachen and Köln.
Let us not forget, that there is also a third comrade from Amsterdam who is being tried at the moment in an independent judicial process that is framed in the same repressive witch hunt that, stemming from the German bank robberies, has been carried out throughout Europe.
From Barcelona we reiterate our solidarity and unconditional support for these comrades and we invite all individuals and collectives to get together and be prepared for any new information or responses to the state’s aggression against those who rebel against its order and misery.

From the struggle at Rigaer Strasse (Berlin)
to the mobilizations against the G20 (Hamburg)
This summer Berlin was the center of a showdown between the police and the remaining parts of what once was a squatting movement. The reason behind was the attempted eviction of the squatted parts of the housing project Rigaer94. Rigaer94 is located in the northern part of Friedrichshain, which has a long history of struggle against state influence. The three weeks of siege of the 94 immediately became a crystallization point for a joint counterattack by anarchists that culminated in the call for a Black July, expressing the ideas of the polymorphous anarchist struggle in action. Strengthened by the battle which led to a small victory by successfully defending the Rigaer94 against the eviction, the offensive carries on in the upcoming mobilization against the G20 summit in Hamburg in July 2017. There are already international calls for decentralized actions in order to create a dynamic that invites all the rebellious fighters that are able and willing to attack to Hamburg.
Comrades from Berlin will report about the struggle against gentrification in Berlin and the role of the Rigaer94, as well as about ongoing projects of anarchists.

From Zaragoza we want to show our support to the comrades recently arrested in Hambach forest (Germany) for the struggle that is happening to save the forests, against an open-pit mine.
More specifically, we send warm greetings to the two comrades from the Spanish State who are incarcerated in Cologne’s prison (Germany), accused of possessing explosives and attacking authority.
We don’t care if they are innocent or guilty; all we want is their freedom and their conviction of being fighters against the destructive machine of progress.
¡LONG LIVE THE HAMBACH FOREST STRUGGLE!
¡FREEDOM FOR THE IMPRISONED COMRADES!
¡WAR AGAINST THE MACHINE!
Recently we published an emergency call-out concerning the situation of our fresh, small but active forest occupation standing against the nuclear monster Andra and its CIGEO plan. On 24th of November, our eviction threat got concrete. The environmental authority decided to free Andra from carrying out an environmental impact study, opening its way towards the final destruction permit.
That very morning the blue team opened the game.
After the é’th decision, they are attempting to penetrate their way into the forest by any possible means. Sometimes they use excuses like «replanting trees», or civilian cops coming for a walk with their «families» on Sunday afternoons. Today they paid us three consecutive visit at the entrance barricade between 6:30 and 8 AM. Finally, they even tried to take that barricade* with a comical attempt to appear credible in our eyes. Obviously they are testing our reactions and trying to wear us down so they can plan how to come next.
As the blue team opened the game, come and play with us! We are urgently asking reinforcements to come. The first official squatter of the Lejuc woods, Sven Lindstrom, decided to do his bit in making eviction matters more difficult for Andra by changing his home address in to the woods and throwing a themed birthday party on 13.12. As the first party crashers have now rattled at the gates, we urge our friends to come bounce them out of the forest next time they show up.
«Come in, bring your own beer and plenty of friends!» Sven wishes to add.
While we are taking our stand against the destruction of the living planet in the name of short-term profit, other good people are taking their stand elsewhere. With love, rage and solidarity we wish to encourage those facing the full force of repression in Standing Rock, North Dakota – one struggle!
Route plans and directions for visitors to come at: en.vmc.camp
* Luckily, we have many. All over the place. Defend them with us!
In the night from the 23rd to the 24th of November the self-service shop of the Sparkasse bank in Magdeburg Buckau had its whole interior repainted in order to express our solidarity with the accused comrades and our rage against this repressive system.

No prisons! No States! Freedom for all!
On the 1st of August, the nuclear monster Andra was ruled by the court to cease the clear cuts and fencing off the forest without legal permits. Today, 24th of November, the environmental authority ruled that Andra is freed from having to carry out an environmental impact study concerning its plans, but can instead simply apply for that final clearing cut permit. The alarming part is that this permit will, besides the clear cuts, also cover the whole of the works in preparation for CIGEO, the gigantic underground repository for highly radioactive nuke waste. So when they come in the next time with their cops and bulldozers: they’re coming to destroy. Big time.
There will be yet one more court hearing about the forest matter on 15th of December. If they play things by the book, they will wait until then, maybe even January. If they decide to do what they want, they can come evicting on any morning from this moment on. So yes: this is an emergency call out, to join, help prepare and face it !

“Complicity with Prison Rebels in the US & the World” (banner hung in the auditorium where the event took place)
Greece and the Dignity of Rebellion
Before I give you the wrong impression that I’m placing undeserved blame on you, I think I should probably begin by revealing that I am a big fan of Greek anarchists. It seems like every single photographic image I see of rebels with bandanas covering their faces or donning black ski masks, every snapshot of police cars tipped onto their tops and blazing away, all come from Greece. In fact, I am such a fan that I consider it the biggest achievement of my life that I wrote a statement in support of Black December posted on 8 December last year, and 5 days later Greek rebels burned down a military building and quoted me. That is a benchmark in my life. I brag about it. I’m impossible to be around. I tell everyone who will listen to me that I wrote a statement and Greek anarchists quoted me after torching a military building.
It makes me want to write a thousand more statements in hopes that you will burn a thousand more buildings.
So, I say all that as context so what I say next won’t hurt your feelings…
Greece brought about swivilization. It all started in Greece. You Greeks refined this hierarchy program, developed democracy as its most appealing form, fashioned great works of art to decorate it—mostly depicting naked people, which really attracted the attention of the rest of the world—and you exported the program on great fleets of sailing vessels.
Fastforward, we now have a global slavery system where we all drag stones up the side of some rich asshole’s pyramid and the vast majority of us do not have the imagination to think that there could be anything better than democracy. We live in a world run by banksters and industrial sociopaths engaged in the mass destruction of everything living, including us.
So, it seems more than appropriate to me that, in the birthplace of swivilization, we now witness its assassination. In Greece, out of all the geographic spaces of the world, we now find the most determined, the most energized, the most radical resistance to swivilization, to this program that distorts and murders us in installments.
It started in Greece. It’s ending in Greece.
Please don’t think I say this in an effort to flatter you. I’m terrible at flattery. I’m great at talking myself into trouble. So, this isn’t flattery, but, I think, a fairly objective observation: The experiments in resistance that you have pushed forward, the strategies and tactics, the theories you have explored, all of this has become communal property for the rest of the world. Even now, as we just begin to find our own way, stumbling along, anarchists in the United States and other places in the world, divided as it is into artificial nation-states, we look to you. We see what you have done.
Not to make excuses for us in the United States, but part of our inaction, I think, is as a consequence of seeing what you have accomplished, how far you have pushed, and we think, whether correctly or otherwise, that such resistance isn’t possible here. We are paralyzed, I think, by a sense that we cannot do what you have done, that somehow the situation or the “conditions” in the United States are different, that the surveillance is too pervasive, the potential sanctions too overwhelming, the social climate too pacified. And so, we sit in front of our computers and log on to watch the footage of Greeks wild-eyed and screaming, chasing the bewildered pigs who run for their lives, the hierarch order trembling at the knees, and we dream.
You must be wondering, Where are the Americans?
We’re coming. I’m certain that we are.
Just this month, millions of Americans voted against the established order that has failed them for their lifetimes. By the millions, they cast ballots, ostensibly for the candidate who will “change” everything, who will “shake things up,” because that candidate seemed to be talking for them, expressing their frustrations.
Giving them the benefit of the doubt that most of them are stupid rather than evil, they unknowingly voted in the most virulent fascist sociopath since Hitler and Mussolini, a fascist of the highest order whose lip service to the forgotten majority will yield to policies of war-mongering and corporate give-aways and “austerity” for the people. Those voters will soon have “buyer’s remorse,” when the fascist in whom they pinned their hopes betrays them thoroughly.
And where will the Americans turn? Will they turn back to the corporate parties that they rejected by the tens of millions, the same parties with the same failed ideas? Will they find a new hero with promises of glory and greatness, speaking much like the hero who drove the knife into their back?
No. They will turn to the example set elsewhere, the example of rejecting the imposed order, the images and ideas exported not on fleets of sea vessels but transmitted electronically via satellite, demonstrating the true dignity of rebellion.
The Americans are coming.
In just a matter of months, this docile and pacified population will be transformed by rage and fury, and will find voice in flames and blood. They will follow into a battle against this common enemy, going where many of you have already gone, and you will see faces covered in bandanas, concealed under ski masks, and you will see the police cars turned and burning, maybe even see the pillars of smoke rising as you look to the western horizon.
The Americans are coming. And when we do, we will be walking in the footprints left by Greek rebels who went before us.
On that day, the day of victory over our common enemy, we will all be Greek.
And we will all be free.
This is Anarchist Prisoner Sean Swain from Warren Correctional in Lebanon, Ohio, in the Fascist States of America. If you’re listening, you ARE the resistance.
Constantly inspired by Sean’s words and his stance against prisoncrats, constantly feeling the warmth of his rebellion, on November 21st 2016 we pasted posters in the neighborhood of Exarchia (downtown Athens) that read:
“And we attack, wherever we are, whatever our situation, until we get the world we deserve. We’re not going to vote them out or petition them out or protest them out or sue them out.”
Uncompromising complicity with indomitable anarchist Sean Swain, still held captive in Ohio prisons in the US
