[Hambach Forest] A forest friend fell from a tree and died during a police attempt to evict the tree house village

19.09.18

“A friend who has accompanied us as a journalist for a long time in the forest, fell today from a suspension bridge over 20 meters high in Beechtown and died. At that time police and RWE tried to evict the tree house village. The SEK was in the process of arresting an activist near the suspension bridge. Our friend was apparently on the way there when he fell.

We are deeply shaken. All our thoughts and desires are with him. Our compassion goes to all the relatives, friends and people who feel concerned.

We urge the police and RWE to leave the forest immediately and stop this dangerous operation. No further lives may be endangered.

What is needed now is a moment of rest.

Even if this is difficult for you at the moment, just as it is difficult for us to give such a factual hint: We recommend, in order to protect all activists, do not give any statements, nor even make any testimonies at the police. The accident must and will be reappraised, but the police are not the place to do that. Their interest is to blame activists.”

Update: The deceased was a photographer and longtime friend of the occupants ande he was doing a report on the eviction of tree houses. He fell on his back from a height of about 20 meters, not having resisted his injuries. The police invasion is over for now.

Kiev, Ukraine: Anarchists set fire to a Lexus belonging to Grachov, EPU vice chair

received on 26.05.18

Since some anarcho-cells in Kiev have started burning cars, we decided to join this activity (video)

On May 21, 2018, we set off the mid-size Lexus RX crossover. It stood near a multi-storey building at the address: Kiev, Artillery Lane, 9a. The fire also damaged the nearby SUV Mitsubishi Pajero.

As it turned out, Lexus belonged to the Deputy Chairman of the European Party of Ukraine, Sergei Grachev. On the official website of the EPU there was a statement  about the arson of the car. This is bingo!

Sergei Grachev – a politician, a liberal and just a scoundrel, to put it mildly. We dislike his way of life and his party. As anarchists we stand on the positions of self-government and social equality. We do not divide politicians on the pro-government and the opposition. For us, they are all enemies and traitors. Each of them deserves absolutely fair hatred and retribution.

According to the owner of Lexus, his neighbors woke him up and reported that his car was burning. He tried to extinguish the car on own with the help of a fire extinguisher, but to no avail. It’s nice to realize that fire extinguishers cannot extinguish take anarchist napalm.

As reported by the State Emergency Service, the call for fire came at 2:19, and the fire was extinguished at 2:43. This time the firemen worked extremely quickly.

About the arson itself we will not talk much – everything can be seen on the video and photos. We can only advise you to use thick napalm without gasoline for arson on protected sites or near large residential complexes. The liquid starts burning gradually, without clapping or flashing, without disturbing sleeping guards, dogs, tenants and your eyesight.

PS. Recently, on the Lysaya Hill in Kiev, nationalists burned the tents of the Roma. You have to be an absolute scum to destroy the huts of beggars and vagabonds! We call upon the young radicals, who have not completely lost their mind, to join the arson of the property of the rich and powerful.

Until the new arson, comrades!

Indonesia: Anarchist in trouble, Brian Valentino, needs our support

received 5 / 17 / 18

Our comrade Brian Valentino is being held in Polda prison Yogyakarta, the main police headquarter of Yogyakarta (special feudal region within Central Java territory)

Since the day of his arrest, May 1st until May 16th 2018, our comrade, who were  beaten and tortured, have been denied of his rights for legal advocate or lawyer. Ever since he was arrested it’s already 15 days of interrogation without the company of a lawyer or advocate. The police or the legal aid haven’t gave us a clear reason about this, therefore we are not sure that whether the police or the legal advocate who refuse to help him.

To be clear, we received information from Brian Valentino’s dad who have just visited him after a week and he make sure that Brian was the only of the arrestees who haven’t given any legal aid for 15 days since arrest.

Therefore we urge to the comrades national and international to strengthen solidarity with Brian Valentino, our dear anarchist friend, who have been refused of his rights for legal aid. We are not limiting the solidarity, it can be legal or whatever. But for donation to the family and defendants:

France: Info on New Repression against Anarchists

received: 4/4/18

Last week saw a new wave of repression targeting anarchists in France, with raids occurring almost simultaneously in several locations. On March 27 in Toulouse, two houses were raided and two people were placed in detention, but they were taken 300km away to the city of Limoges. These two people were released 38 hours later, after a long interrogation on their political positions and social networks.

At the same time, there was also a raid in Limoges itself, and one person was placed in detention, while 500km away in Amiens their family was also facing a raid and interrogations. This person has been placed under an order for up to one year of investigative custody that can then be renewed.

The next day, March 28, the little town of Ambert saw raids against three houses. Two people were placed in detention and they’re now also held in investigative custody for up two four months, renewable twice. The charges mention mischief in an organized group; the investigation is still ongoing.

The information released by the mainstream media so far only mention Limoges, invoking the arson of several vehicles at its gendarmerie compound. Let’s recall that during the trial for the burned police car last October, there were incendiary solidarity actions all across France, notably in Toulouse, Clermont Ferrand, Limoges, Grenoble, the Paris area, Marseille…
Based on what was said during the interrogations of the two people from Toulouse, we can gather that there has been audio surveillance and physical surveillance over several months during a judicial investigation that was then followed with a surveillance warrant, opened October 20 2017 and renewed December 13 2017. It’s safe to assume that this surveillance doesn’t only concern those interrogated or only these cities.

It seems that the state is using the vague designation of ‘criminal association’ to try to criminalize people’s relationships, the sp acesthey visit, their ways of organizing, their political ideas and practices. This gives them a lot of leeway of who they can implicate: eating in a squat, using secure mailing lists, participating in actions, organizing meet-ups, playing sports together, communicating, or moving around.

However, dealing with repression is nothing new and over these past few years in France, prison has become more and more concrete for anarchists and anti-authoritarians.

Following the burning of a police car in 2016, several people were imprisoned. Among them, one comrade has now been in prison for over a year, with a five-year sentence of which they will serve half. The prison administration has been trying to make his stay particularly difficult through disorienting transfers to new cells or institutions or by depriving him of visits and mail. Along with this, other comrades have been locked up in connection with the struggle against the nuclear dump site in Bure. Another person spent a month in prison before being released with a four-month conditional sentence, while three others are still in prison, including one person inside since November, sentenced to eight months, and two others sentenced to three.

At the end of 2017, some squatters got a taste of prison for …squatting. The state has found a a new way of preventing squattingthrough the use of burglary charges. Three people spent a week in jail over this, while another was inside for four months. The prosecution was seeking a year custodial sentence against this person, but at the last minute the judges decided to sentence him to two months custodial and fo ur months conditional. This meant that with his pretrial detention, he spent two months more in prison than he was sentenced to.

It’s important to remain clear about our solidarity and to continue to struggle and stay solid, to defeat these judicial strategies. And let’s remember that solidarity knows no borders and that the French state, with its wide cultural and economic reach, is present in the four corners of the world.

We’re all criminals. So join the association!

Review of repressions against anarchists in Russia – 2017 and first months of 2018

received on 02.03.18

Moscow Anarchist Black Cross released the review of repression of anarchists by Russian state in 2017 and early 2018. During this period, the authorities continue to frame and persecute the Russian comrades. Anarchists are also a subject of repressions in prisons. Here is the extract of recently published list of repression in Russia.

St. Petersburg and Penza

In October 2017, Russian Special Services (FSB) fabricated a large-scale criminal case against anarchists and anti-fascists, whom they declared members of the terrorist organisation called The Network. Russian authorities allege that the accused planned and prepared terrorist acts to be conducted during the coming presidential elections in March 2018 and the World Cup over Summer the same year.

In Penza, Yegor Zorin, Ilya Shakursky, Vasily Kuksov, Dmitry Pchelintsev, Arman Sagynbaev and Andrei Chernov were detained. In St. Petersburg, the cops arrested Victor Filinkov and Igor Shishkin. Ilya Kapustin is currently a witness.  The relatives of the arestees reported that their loved ones were tortured in order to extract confessions from them. All detainees in this case are in a difficult situation, under the threat of repetition of tortures, and very much need your support – and your solidarity. You can make a donation towards their legal costs here. The arrested will also be delighted to recieve letters of support. Here are their addresses:

Moscow

Two activists, Elena Gorban and Alexei Kobaidze, are charged with criminal damage of Putin’s United Russia Party offices. They were charged after, at the end of January 2018, unknown activists smashed the window of one of the branches of the United Russia Party in Moscow and threw a fire inside in protest against the upcoming presidential elections.

“No matter who becomes president, their policy is always the oppression and exploitation of a simple working people. We, as anarchists, offer self-government and direct democracy in exchange for presidents and other state institutions. Join our fight! “- the people responsible for that action said in their statement.

The police broke into the apartments where Gorban and Kobaidze lived on February 13. After the interrogations, the activists were released on bail, and now they are on the run.

Chelyabinsk: criminal case for anti- FSB banner

In Chelyabinsk, five activists were detained on 19th February 2018 after the action near the local branch of the FSB. Persons unknown hanged a banner saying “FSB – the main terrorist” and threw a smoke bomb over the fence of the FSB property. The action was held in support of the anarchists arrested in Penza.

The activists, who prefer their names to be published, reported that the FSB officers tortured them with a taser gun, demanding that they admit that they hung the banner. They were eventually released on bail, but with a condition preventing them from leaving the country or changing address. You can help them with legal costs by transferring money to the account of ABC.

Crimea: Yevgeny Karakashev arrested for “justifying terrorism”

In February 2018, Crimean FSB arrested anarchist Yevgeny Karakashev. He is accused of “inciting hatred” and “justification of terrorism”, or in other words, posting a video on Russian social media page VKontakte. Karakashev is currently under arrest.

Eugene has been busy with activism for some time. Prior to his arrest, he took part in a picket near the FSB building in Crimean city Simferopol, and in November 2016, along with like-minded people, planned to hold a picket “against police arbitrariness in the Crimea” near the building of the Ministry of the Interior. This picket was banned by the local authorities.

Administrative Persecution of Anarchists

In Janury 2017, on the anniversary of the political assassination of lawyer Stanislav Markelov and journalist Anastasia Baburova, there were memorial events across the country, which the cops tried to break. Anarchists were detained in Moscow, Petersburg, Murmansk and Sevastopol. The police conducted more arrests this year during commemoration actions for Markelov and Baburova.

On 23rd February 2017, dozens of people were detained on left-wing “Desertir Fest” in the southeast of Moscow. The festival was held in protest against army conscription. The police considered such a cause unduly radical. In 2018 the festival did not take place because the cops prevented it in advance.

In Irkutsk in April 2017, searches were conducted with the participation of the SOBR (Russian Special Forces) unit and the Center for Countering Extremism. Nine people were detained. With regard to one of the activists – Dmitry Litvin – a criminal case was initiated under Article 148 of the Criminal Code (insulting religion). The rest were interrogated as witnesses in the case – the detainees themselves were sure that the main reason is different: local anarchists are the most active participants political life of the city and repeatedly intensified social protest.

In November 2017, when Russian antifascist traditionally commemorate Timur Kacharava: a musician and antifascist murdered by neo- nazis, the police broke the celebrations. As result, one person was arrested.

Persecution of Russian Activists Abroad

In April 2017, an anarchist Alexei Polykhovich was deported from Belarus after 12 days of arrest for participating in a rally in Minsk, where people protested against new taxes. During Summer, in the Belarusian city of Baranovichi, the riot police rushed into the lecture of Alexei Sutugi. The subject of the lecture was how to oppose the authorities from prison. Almost all those present were detained until evening. On October 12, a local court ruled that the materials confiscated at the lecture were extremist.

In October 2017 in the Belarusian city of Grodno the riot police interrupted a lecture of the philosopher Pyotr Ryabov. Pyotr Ryabov is sympathetic to anarchists associate professor of philosophy at the Moscow State Pedagogical University. He specialises in the history of anarchist thought. After the lecture entitled “Informal movement of Belarus 1991-2010” in Baranovichi, Ryabov was sentenced to 6 days of arrest for “dissemination of extremist materials”. After that, the Citizenship and Migration Department of the local militia decided to deport Ryabov and barred him from entering the country for 10 years. In Moscow, a series of pickets took place against the arrest of Pyotr Ryabov in front of the embassy of Belarus.

“The state overestimated my contribution to revolutionary propaganda: several of my lectures would have produced less hype than their prohibition. I think that the whole thing is in the term “anarchism”. The authorities remember, and the fact that the anarchists were condemned for the arson of the Russian embassy in 2010, and the fact that the anarchists in many cases led a mass protest against the law on parasitism, “ Ryabov said in an interview after his release.

In 2017 anarchists of Belarus were the most active force of protests against the tax on parasitism, which the Belarusian authorities wanted to introduce for the unemployed.

News from prisons

The Crimean anarchist Alexander Kolchenko celebrated his 28th birthday in prison where he is still kept – despite the recent exchange of prisoners between Ukraine and Russia. On his birthday, the anarchists from Ukraine, Czech Republic and Poland held actions at airports in solidarity with him.

Kolchenko was sentenced to 10 years in prison for the case of the so-called “Crimean terrorists” – he participated in actions against the entry of Russian troops on the peninsula, in particular, the arson of the local branch of United Russia and the office of the nationalist Russian community of Crimea. In November, the convict was diagnosed with a “weight deficit”. At the same time, the FSIN denied him the opportunity to study in absentia at a Ukrainian university.

You can write a letter to Alexander Kolchenko at the address: 456612, Chelyabinsk Region, Kopeysk, ul. Kemerovskaya, 20, IK-6, detachment 4, Kolchenko Alexander Aleksandrovich.

In Mordovia, anarchist Ilya Romanov continues to serve his sentence for terrorism: a conviction he acquired after he was injured with fireworks in October 2013. Due to the accident, Romanov lost his hand, but still, he was convicted for terrorism and sentenced to 10 years in prison.

In April, the ECHR considered one of the complaints of Romanov and awarded him 3,400 Euro in compensation for unreasonably long detention during the investigation. However, it is unclear how the prisoner will be able to receive this money – all his accounts are blocked by the state. The elderly relatives of Romanov, who tried to transfer the money to Ilya via the post office, were detained by the police. In May, Romanov was placed in solitary for four months, and in July, new terrorist case against him was launched

Ilya Romanov is detained in IK-22 Mordovia, the address: 431130, Mordovia, Zubovo-Poliansky district, st. Potma, n. Lepley. Write a letter to him, he will really appreciate it.

Finally free

In May 2017, anarchist Alexei Sutuga was released from prison. In September 2014 Sutuga, known by the nickname Socrates, was convicted to three years and a month after he allegedly took part in a fight in a cafe. The anti-fascist himself did not admit guilt: he says that he tried to break the fight, but he did not beat anyone. The victims in the case were Russian neo-Nazis.
In October 2017, the antifascist from Tomsk, Yegor Alekseev, disappeared before he was due to be sentenced for “public calls for extremist activity”, or posting a YouTube video on his social media profile. At the moment he is safe in unknown location. According to Yegor, he decided to hide from the Russian justice system, fearing to get a conviction with a real term of imprisonment.

In early November 2017, historian and anarchist Dmitry Buchenkov escaped from house arrest and is currently in undisclosed European country. His escape was possible because he was not fit with electronic bracelet due to lack of resources. According to investigators, on May 6, 2012, Buchenkov allegedly attacked a policemen. He was charged despite of evidence clearly indicating that on the day of alleged attack he wasn’t even present: he was visiting his family in other town. The complaint of his arrest and politically motivated persecution is directed to the European Court of Human Rights.

This review was prepared by the team of the ABC-Moscow. It is not a complete list of the prosecutions of anarchists by Russian state – at the request of some of the comrades, the review does not mention all the misadventures of post-Soviet anarchists. Urgent call to continue the solidarity campaign with the repressed Russian anarchists – Actions carried out on February 5-12

received on 17.02.18

More arrests: In the Crimea, special services detained a local anarchist and social activist Yevgeny Karakashev (02/02). In Moscow, an anarchist Elena Gorban was arrested (13/02). On the same day, anarchist Alexei Kobaidze was detained and arrested. We are calling upon everybody to continue the solidarity campaign!

USA.
Russia.
Toronto, Canada.

On February 5-12, an international week of solidarity with Russian anarchists took place. 21 actions against repression were joined by 21 Russian cities and a large number of foreign comrades, from Belarus to the US and Canada.

Information materials, leaflets, graffiti and stencils were distributed, banners were posted informing about repressions against anarchists.
Actions were held in Kaliningrad, Altai, Kursk, Novosibirsk, Samara, Kemerovo, Astrakhan, Volgograd, Rostov-on-Don, Izhevsk, Penza, St. Petersburg, Moscow, Nakhodka, Chelyabinsk and Vorkuta.

Pickets informing about the terror of the FSB against anarchists wer held in Yekaterinburg, Kandalaksha, Tomsk, Sochi, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Saratov.

In Samara, an evening of solidarity was organized. Visitors were told about repressions against anarchists and about the basic rules of conspiracy. After that, the film “Sacco and Vanzetti” was shown, the story of these people clearly demonstrates all the inhumanity and uselesness of the state system and the methods that it has used, to this day, to suppress any protests.

In Moscow, an unauthorized march of anarchists against the lawlessness of the FSB also took place. Several dozen people blocked Myasnitskaya – one of the central streets adjacent to the Lubyanka, where the main FSB department is located. They passed along it with the banner “FSB is the main terrorist.”

Solidarity actions were also held in other countries.
In Belarus, anarchists distributed leaflets informing about then persecution of Russian anarchists.

In Lutsk, Ukraine, there were also grafitti in solidarity with Russian anarchists.

Actions of solidarity took place in Warsaw, Gdansk (Poland) and Prague (Czech Republic).

In Prague, Czech Republic, a concert was held in support of repressed Russian anarchists. At the concert information was spread about repressions in Russia and money was raised for the Anarchist Blac Cross, which provides assistance to political prisoners. Also fundraising was carried out in Estonia at concerts of musical groups Ognemöt, Adrestia and Prophets V in Tallinn and Tartu.

Also, an event to inform about repression in Russia and fund-raising was held in Budapest, Hungary.

In France, a solidarity dinner was held, the funds from which were directed to support the Russian anarchists.

Also, many solidarity events took place in the United States. So, in Minneapolis there was an evening of solidarity, in Brooklyn – a film show. Antifascist online store from Portland spread information about repression and raised money to support the repressed anarchists. In Kansas, a street demonstration was held in support of Russian anarchists. In New York, a picket took place at the Russian consulate.
Also, representatives of the Revolutionary Abolitionist movement from New York expressed solidarity.

Solidarity action was held in Toronto, Canada. Anarchists held a picket on the most crowded square in the city, informing passers-by about repressions in Russia.

The week of solidarity was held in solidarity with Russian anarchists, subjected to repression by the FSB. In the fall of 2017, the FSB arrested six anarchists from Penza. The reason for the arrest was that all the six played airsoft, which was regarded by the secret services as a training for the overthrow of state power. Weapons were implanted to the detainees, they were accused of organizing a terrorist community.
For months, the detainees were daily tortured and beaten until they agreed to slander themselves. They were hung upside down, beaten, tortured with electric shockers. In January 2018, several anarchists were kidnapped in St. Petersburg. Two suspects and one witness were seized, all of them were tortured. One of the detainees for this purpose was taken to the forest near the city. Another detainee was tortured for more than a day. Only officially the interrogation lasted a day – from three o’clock in the morning until three o’clock in the morning.
Although one of the suspects and the witness made a statement about the torture, their statements were not checked by the state authorities.

The FSB is announcing plans for arrests on the fabricated case of a terrorist group of two dozen anarchists in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Penza and Belarus.

Also in the Crimea, special services detained a local anarchist and social activist Yevgeny Karakashev. The reason for the detention is the active participation of Eugene in the social struggle of the inhabitants of the peninsula. On the day of the arrest, the Mayor of Evpatoria met with protesters against point-building and made a hint about possible arrests. The reason for the arrest was Yevgeny’s correspondence in a group chat in social networks.

Immediately after the end of the week of actions in support of Russian anarchists, repressions were continued in Moscow. On February 13, early in the morning, an anarchist Elena Gorban was arrested. In violation of all norms, the lawyer was not admitted to Elena for several hours until she agreed to admit guilt in the pogrom of the office of the ruling Russian party, “United Russia”. On the same day, anarchist Alexei Kobaidze was detained and arrested for the same charge. The reason for the arrests was an unauthorized demonstration in Moscow against the FSB terror. Early in the morning, before the appearance of information in the media and the Internet about the arrests of anarchists, the pro-government telegram channels published a video of detention and a message that  anarchists taking part in the demonstration had been detained in Moscow. The investigators who questioned Elena also ask her about the demonstration although the detainees were charged with the pogrom of United Russia, and not participation in the demonstration.

After the arrest, actions of solidarity were continued in Russia. In Chelyabinsk, anarchists placed a banner near the FSB building and threw a smoke bomb to its territory. And in the suburbs of Moscow a mobilising raid was held in solidarity with the repressed anarchists.

We are calling upon everybody to continue the solidarity campaign!

Berlin: Rigaer 94. A call to resistance.

The police state unleashes its full range of possibilities: early this Monday, presumably 100 faces of people, who took part in the events of Hamburg, got published. The state campaign yielded completely its disguise of prosecution and started a smear, that should break any kind of resistance. Let’s not be silent towards these incidents, this general attack on the last social and resistant elements remaining. To burn this society of snitches and murderers and fascism at the stake is a still unaccomplished duty.

It is clear to every reasonable human being, that the episode of Hamburg was absolutely necessary. The lies and fake debates of the repression authorities and the system conformant and right wing media did not achieve to rewrite the successful resistance against the G20. In one of the most self-confident democratic regimes of the whole world with a differentiated apparatus of power and the image of invincibility, ten thousands of people dared to upraise, taking great risks and partly serious consequences for their own lives. A composition of protests, resistant and offensive actions transformed the summit of the ruling powers into a disaster. A disaster for the brand of Hamburg, Germany and the most powerful themselves, whose most important meeting now has an unpredictable future.

A disaster is what the summit was also for the police. This institution that has, in the German empire as in fascist Germany and that of democracy never just been the executive but first and foremost the legitimating power of this nation of murderers and losers. We all know how deeply ingrained the ideology of the police-state is in our society.
A society that threw a dead Rosa Luxemburg into the Landwehrkanal, even behind a bookshelf chased Anne Frank and sent her, with millions of other “subhumans” to Death-camps; this society which in the end declares a German-national military(1) as the “resistance”, is fascist. The security-apparatus of the BRD, formed by the same butchers that hunted partisans and antifascists for the german nation all over europe without mercy , is fascist. The wider society and the executive powers reunited in the hunt on communists and brought the machinery against the guerilla groups that fortunately shot the bullet at the german embodied fascist Hans-Martin Schleyer to a till then never seen perfection, just a few years after the “liberation”.

The faces of the resistance were pasted up on wanted-posters on every corner, on every intersection one had to expect to be controlled by heavily armed police, the reintroduction of death-sentence was taken into consideration and put into practice through police work. The discourse in society, directed by the staff of media, politics and police set the course for countless fatal shootings , white torture and special laws against large parts of society. The police state, still in its infancy at the time of the murder of Benno Ohnesorg and under permanent threat of an uprising, has throughout the years developed into a state within the state. With the end of the urban guerilla and the new social movements we are faced with a society unable to bring forth a relevant opposition against this system. Not even when people are cruelly tortured and murdered in the bunkers of police stations like Oury Jalloh from Dessau, who was burnt alive by a fascist pig.

The only retarding factor in the perfection of the totalitarian police state seems to be the careful proceeding of the head-strategists, as to not raise too much concerns with conservative civil rights activists. Like us, they have less and less means and backing in a civil society that has decided, what the state does can not be wrong; what the press says is right, resistance is senseless.

The times of comfort zone protests have definitely passed. To this regard the German society got to the point again, where it has not been since 80 years. These are the key innovations and challenges for the resistance:

The mere participation on a demonstration can mean longtime prison.
The police can define areas, where their own law are in force.
The police can classify anyone as potential offender (“Gefährder”)(2), to be able to imprison people without a court decision and watch over them completely.

Already before the G20 summit, measures against the people of the resistance have been taken. Persons, who are classified by the police as potential offenders, received bans to not come to Hamburg. Obligations to register with the police have been issued and enforced under threat to be punished by a fine and imprisonment. Furthermore visible observations with the purpose of intimidation and for sure area-wide undercover surveillance have been made.
There is no need for further explanation that during the summit the complete city of Hamburg has been under control by the police, which lead to “adaptation” of civil rights and massive violence by the heavily-armed police troops.
The police activities before and during the summit did not show a new quality. Every major event of the past was accompanied by attacks by the security apparatus on societal conventions. But the mass of attacks and their implicitness with which they were exercised against formerly self-evident forms of protests in Hamburg were remarkable.

What’s been started after the summit is a qualitative leap. There are those claiming the riots were started by the state to smash resistance structures in a final campaign. This line of thought is bullshit as we know we all politically wanted the state disaster in Hamburg. To put an end to these conspiracy theories once and for all we take the political responsibility for everything that happened in Hamburg: from civil protests to the last stone that was thrown at cops. As a part of the rebellious structures we called for a demonstration in solidarity with all those facing repression shortly after the summit, in the future we will also not hide from the responsibility to further the revolt. Those that only see a state conspiracy behind everything are incapacitating the resistance in all its properties and have no legitimization to speak in its name.

It’s clear now, that the state is fighting for its power of definition concerning this event in the same way as it seeks to rule over everything. Over our lives and social structures, the nature and the techniques. In this battle for the capitalist and national idea the state will always use the means of fascism. It’s always the same methods being used again and again to denounce the resistance as criminal, non-political and unsocial(3). Doing so, the German state can rely on its police, its media and its people with their representatives. It’s hard to say, who is the most disgusting one of these creatures. Is it the chief of the special investigation group “Black Block”, who would hunt down anyone and everyone held in front of his fangs? Or is it Brechmittel-Scholz(4), who’s representing the dirty Bourgeoisie of Hamburg with their luxury limousines? Or the newspapermen being the executive
power of the police’s propaganda. Or the collaborators with their smartphone footage handing over thousands of people to the hands of repression because they are cowards that fear to take control over their own lives and would love to march behind every Hitler.

Some of us were laughing about the last wave of raids, which was leaked before. Or about the fact that Fabio, the sympathetic boy, is becoming a problem for the strategy of repression. Nevertheless the police strategy should not be underestimated. An important part of the strategy involves a long term propaganda to gain back the power of definition about the events of Hamburg. Who could believe that several months later, the G20 would still be on the daily agenda thanks to frequent press conferences organized by the police? And who could believe that the professional propaganda with almost endless resources would fail without our contribution?

That’s why we – at this point of extensive manhunt – renew our confession to the struggle against the state, the fascist organizations like the police, the secret services and right-wing structures as well as collaborators and snitches within the population and the press. Fabio and all those, who even in court keep their straight stance, are our role-models to defy fear and send greetings of freedom and solidarity to all those who face the repression, and the world of the G20.

On the occasion of the manhunt and because of the calls for denunciation of 100 people we decided to publish pictures of 54 police officers, who were part of last years eviction of Rigaer94. We would be happy to receive hints of their private addresses. They can be held responsible for the eviction as well as for the violence of the three weeks of occupation.

It’s important now, to put an end to our waiting attitude and empower the mobilization and solidarity of active structures. The demonstration after the wave of raids was a starting point(5). But with the next raids we have to grow in numbers. If we don’t have any other means, we at least have to take to the streets to take responsibility for our friends who are hunted by the state.

Everyone to the streets! Resolute and angry we fight the ruling order and stay strong in the face of repression!

(1) Stauffenberg was a high ranking general who tried to kill Hitler. He was member of the aristocracy, who basically criticized Hitler for a bad strategy
(2) “Gefährder” is a term created by the german police and widely used in public debate to stigmatize and criminalize muslim people. The use against leftists and anarchists is quite likely to be more widely adopted.
(3) originally “asozial”, something between antisocial and unsocial
(4) Brechmittel-Scholz: Major of Hamburg, who is renowned for ordering the use of poison (Brechmittel) by the police that would make people vomit in order to find out if they swallowed drugs
(5) On December 5th police cracked down on several homes of people that were identified as participants of a block that was attacked by the police in the Rondenbarg street during the attempt to block the summit. As a reaction there were demonstrations in major cities all over germany.

Athens, Greece: Pola Roupa and Nikos Maziotis continue hunger strike in Koridallos prisons

On December 5th 2017, Revolutionary Struggle members Pola Roupa and Nikos Maziotis were forcibly removed from Koridallos prisons (both were subjected to headlocks, holds, etc.) and were involuntarily admitted to the General State Hospital of Nikaia. The prison prosecutor pressed physicians to force-feed the two hunger strikers. The hospital doctors refused to treat the prisoners against their will, and solely reported that Nikos Maziotis has lost 14.6% of his initial body weight, while Pola Roupa has lost 12.8% of her initial body weight.

On December 6th (on the 26th day of their hunger strike), Roupa and Maziotis were finally discharged from the hospital and returned to Koridallos prisons, determined to continue their hunger strike until their demands are met (among other things, they request extended visits with their six-year-old child).

Maziotis was informed that he would be placed in a disciplinary segregation unit, until damages at B isolation section in the basement of Koridallos women’s prison are repaired. This means that the comrade is being punished for having completely destroyed the solitary confinement wing where he has been held for over 5 months, and is now facing appalling conditions, even worse than the previous ones.

Athens, Greece: Involuntary hospitalization of Nikos Maziotis and Pola Roupa

Revolutionary Struggle members Nikos Maziotis and Pola Roupa are on hunger strike since November 11th 2017.

The two imprisoned comrades are fighting against isolation measures; against specific provisions of the new correctional code aimed at repressing them as high-security prisoners; against the proposed detention of high-security prisoners in police stations; against the intended reinstatement of the type C prison regime. They also demand an immediate end of the solitary confinement imposed on Nikos Maziotis (since July, the comrade is kept isolated from other prisoners by a decision of the justice ministry); an extension of visiting hours based on the frequency of visits a prisoner has; appropriate visitation rooms for incarcerated parents to meet with their children.

They made it clear from the outset that they only receive water. They have repeatedly asked to be granted unhindered phone communication with their six-year-old son before being transferred from Koridallos prisons to any hospital.

On December 2nd, Nikos Maziotis and Pola Roupa were transferred to a hospital outside the prisons due to the deterioration of their health condition. However, the next day both comrades asked to be sent back to the prisons because eventually they were not permitted unhindered phone communication with their child.

On December 4th, Nikos Maziotis burned and destroyed the B isolation section in the basement of Koridallos women’s prison, where he has been held in solitary confinement for 5 months. He was then moved to the prison infirmary because of the fumes, and was threatened with further isolation – this time in a disciplinary unit of Koridallos prisons.

In the early hours of December 5th, hunger strikers Nikos Maziotis and Pola Roupa were forcibly transferred outside Koridallos prisons. The prison prosecutor ordered their involuntary hospitalization. They are currently being kept at the General State Hospital of Nikaia, both threatened with force-feeding. As of yet, the hospital doctors have not succumbed to the prosecutor’s order.

Nikos Maziotis and Pola Roupa continue their hunger strike. They have stated they will not accept serum, and will act against involuntary treatment and force-feeding (torture) in every possible way.

THE ROTTEN SYSTEM AND THE ABSENCE OF RESISTANCE ARE THE REASONS FOR THE ROTTING OF SOCIETY

Almost 10 years after the outbreak of the crisis with the collapse of the financial system, bank bankruptcy, and seven years after the commencement of the era of the memorandum and the monitoring of the country by the troika (IMF, EC, ECB), the social base in this country has suffered the strongest blow since the Second World War.

Greek puppet governments have definitively delegated substantial economic and political governance to EU supranational organizations and indirectly to the capital markets and are imposing new measures of social euthanasia for large sections of the population in this country, they are now insignificant for their added value to capitalist wealth. That’s why it does not matter if they disappear. This condition of condemnation is also a prerequisite for the survival of the system itself, for the preservation of the political regime, for the perpetuation of capitalism.

The government’s propaganda to overcome the crisis and return the Greek economy to a recovery path is a common European lie to showcase the supposed success of the programs and memoranda, to allow the EU to be removed from the obligation to continue to financially support the Greek regime and to let the capital markets take the lead from the EU in the recycling of Greek debt and speculation through it. A debt that regime agents already admit that if not drastically reduced in the immediate future will force the Greek state to declare bankruptcy. Not least that the exit to the markets of the Greek state will further exacerbate the already exaggerated Greek debt, which now exceeds 180% of GDP.

The message, however, that the world’s powerful have taken from these years with the rescue policies of the system by the central banks and governments that have put the whole weight of the crisis that the rich created on the backs of the peoples: whatever they do they have their pack animals, the social base, to bear the crisis and produce profits. And the usual practice of enrichment through the swelling of global debt and its financialization continues until the next collapse. But the people have already suffered a huge blow. The social base in the country counts millions of poor, marginalized and desperate. It counts thousands of deaths from hunger, illness and suicide.

The SYRIZA-ANEL government’s minister [of Tourism] Kountoura argued that it is a government success that people do not eat from the rubbish. People still do eat from the trash, but they no longer show them on television. This is why it is a universal political priority to support the “success story” of the memorandum by all parties and the media.

The theft of any surplus wealth left to the social base continues with unabated tension by the government with wage and pensions cuts, the abolition of public insurance, the taxation of the most economically weak, all while poverty is rising, on the orders of the EU the banks will throw thousands of borrowers onto the streets, and there is no chance to persuade the government to get out of the crisis.

The only success of the government is social passivity and the defeat of struggles. Because the basic precondition for imposing these criminal policies in the country that threw thousands of people to the margins, which killed thousands, was and is political normality and the absence of a strong social reaction. Because the smaller the resistance of society, the more ruthless the system becomes.

The social reactions to the memorandums somehow came to a standstill as the regime was determined to impose the memorandums at all political expense. But the reason these memoranda were imposed was the absence of an expanded and powerful revolutionary movement that could be an obstacle to the social euthanasia policies. Upon the defeat of the resistance SYRIZA stepped in to climb to power. The SYRIZA-ANEL government has also been the last sparks of reaction to the system and policies to overcome the crisis.

Today, the social base is rotten, while the economic and political lords of the country have secured their wealth in tax havens and in foreign banks. The Paradise Papers come to recall what everyone knows: That the economically powerful and their political aides are not touched by any crisis and it does not concern them that any measures are imposed. In a “legal and moral” (sic) way they will continue to enrich themselves while millions of people die of hunger and poverty.

Nowadays, the social base is rotten because this rotten system is killing to survive, because it kills social solidarity and cohesion and pushes it into crime. The war of all against all is the beginning of capitalism and the economic freedom of the rich to do whatever they want with the support of governments. It is the beginning of the absolute competition that has dominated the planet.

Their own creations – the crimes among the social bases – are nowadays the politicians’ number one issue. “Order and security” is the common slogan of the political elites to deal drastically with these phenomena which the regime itself gave birth to. One of the most popular aspects of propaganda is crime among the social bases today. It is the phenomenon that the regime itself generates and nourishes.

And, on the other hand, the great criminals, the real terrorists and the bandits that make up the economic and political power, remain immune. Continue reading Greece: Imprisoned Comrades Pola Roupa and Nikos Maziotis, Revolutionary Struggle Members, Begin New Hunger Strike

Greenville, USA: The ALF prisoner anarchist comrade Walter Bond on hunger strike

received on 11/22/2017

Walter Bond – the Animal Liberation Front political prisoner – has started a hunger strike to protest mistreatment in prison

The comrade is in the SHU (solitary confinement) and is only permitted use the phone for 15 minutes per month. Walter has been on hunger strike for 6 days in prison.

Statement from Walter Bond recorded by the North American Animal Liberation Press Office on 11/15/17 :
soundcloud.com/rufrebelradio/urgent-message-special-announcement-from-walter-bond-the-alf-lone-wolf

“Since my arrival in Greenville two-and-a-half years ago, my communications with the world have been made incredibly difficult and at times impossible. I have been repeatedly denied books, magazines, letters and pictures. It’s standard operating procedure that my mail – be it my email or snail mail — is habitually days, weeks and even months late. It is not at all uncommon for my mail, both incoming and outgoing, to simply never arrive.

I’ve been…I’ve even been denied copies of my own book, “Always Looking Forward,” which I wrote in prison and is approved for me to have.

It has also become impossible for me to adhere to my Vegan diet, because none of the so-called “meat options” offered at Greenville, Illinois are even close to Vegan. Because of this, I have been forced at great cost to my friends, family and supporters to pay outrageously for foods from the commissary that continue to be an inadequate version….

I have tried now for over a year to obtain a transfer from FCI Greenville, Illinois closer to New York City where I intend to live upon my release, but I have been denied this as well through petty and irrelevant disciplinary reports.

Despite all of this, I have maintained years of patience, quietly awaiting my freedom. But, my cooperation has got me nothing.
So in the tradition of A.L.F. activists before me, such as Barry Horne, I am going on hunger strike. I will not eat anything and will starve until these issues are remedied.

I’m asking everybody in the Animal Rights and Anarchist communities to stand with me with your protests and actions of solidarity.

You can reach the institution concerning my health and well-being at (618) 664-6200.”

Cagliari, Italy: Anarchist Paolo arrested for robbery

Tuesday, October 31, our comrade Paolo has been arrested along with two partners, immediately after the post office robbery in a suburb of Cagliari (Sardinia). Once they left the post office, they tried to get away, but the infamy of a bystander has provided very precise information to cops, who therefore were able to organize an encirclement and to intercept them as they were driving away.

They have offered no resistance. Clothes and weapons used in the robbery have been found in the car.

All our closeness and solidarity to them. We do not know why they have made this choice, e we do not care about. We know whoever organize to deprive State and bosses of what they need, do the right thing, always.

But, we are disgusted by those people who for a “sense of civic duty” (expression used by the chief police of Cagliari) snitch on those who organize and act to have what they need, taking from what by nature is the worst exploiter in the world, the State.

On the side of those who do not bow their heads.

Update:
Paolo is at Uta, he is fine [in the cell with one of the two accomplices with whom he was arrested]. He asks for stamps to be sent. There is nothing about hearing dates or anything else, does not seem to have problems getting the correspondence.

Chilean prisons: Concerning the juridical situation of our comrade Marcelo Villaroel

Concerning the juridical situation of our comrade Marcelo Villaroel…or how the revenge of the State is perpetuated in silence

Last September, at the 4th Military Prosecutor’s Office in Santiago, the refusal of the petition to prescribe the sentences made by our comrade Marcelo, several months ago was notified.

Immediately, Marcelo appealed to this refusal, leaving the resolution of the appeal in the hands of the Martial Court, where it was reaffirmed in the first days of October.

These condemnations correspond to some causes originated by actions framed in his old militancy at the “Mapu-lautaro”, organization in which our comrade was an active fighter since a very young age and of which, while imprisoned, in 1995, he was expelled because of “anarchist deviations”.

Marcelo served his sentence without interruption for 11 years, two months and fifteen days from October 13, 1992 until December 28, 2003, remaining only his night prison until March 2005, when he granted the so-called “probation”, which obliges him to sign a document every week until completing 20 years of penitentiary control.

Marcelo is indicted as a participant in the assault on Bank Segurity in the early days of November 2007, as well as other comrades – expropriation in which a cop died and caused an unprecedented state response. Marcelo decides to assume clandestinity, and in February 2008, in his absence, he has his “probation” revoked.

In March 2008, he is detained in Argentina and in September 2014, he is sentenced to 14 years for 2 bank robberies.

In that same period, as penalties related to old causes emanated from the always sinister “Military Justice” were revised, the condemnation remained as it follows:

– Illicit terrorist association: 10 years and 1 day.

– Damage to a cop car with serious injuries to carabineers: 3 years + 541 days.

– Co-author murder qualified as terrorist: 15 years and 1 day.

– Theft with intimidation, Law 18.314: 10 years and 1 day.

– Explosive attack against the embassy of spain: 8 years.

In total, these old convictions compute 46 years, establishing its end on February, 2056.

There are a number of irregularities in this math, and although the legal issue is not our focus it never was, we believe that it becomes urgent and necessary to face this situation that at all lights represents a clear revenge against a comrade who holds high subversive autonomous and libertarian convictions, a comrade who has never abandoned the direct confrontation for total liberation, nor has it ever renounced its combatant history — leaving it as a commodity for books or prizes of borrowed stories, where hundreds of renegades hides while roaming around different pseudo radical spaces.

Our call is to get rid of the verbiage and the false gestures of solidarity to face this and each of the revenge that come from the State (as a constant policy against all those who do not deny their ties and convictions).

It’s time to act, to realize that no comrade in prison is alone.

FOR THE DESTRUCTION OF ALL PRISONS!!!

AS MISERY EXISTS, THERE WILL BE REBELLION!!!

Berlin: A comrade in prison

Received the 09th of November 2017

On october 18th 2017, the trial against our friend and comrade Nero took place at the Amtsgericht in Moabit. He was charged with blinding a police helicopter with a laser pointer. On that same night, a concert was taking place in Rigaerstraße, which led to riots in the streets.
Nero was arrested in the Südkiez in Friedrichshain, assaulted in the police station and let go again the next morning. A month later, civil cops where waiting at his work place and arrested him upon his arrival.
Since then, it has been three months, where he has been in custody in the JVA Moabit.

Cops where already waiting in front of the court house in the Turmstraße and civil cops where snooping around the neighbourhood, to harass visitors. Press and police witnesses had gathered in front of the court room. The trial was supposed to start at 9:20 AM, though it took over an hour before the press and visitors where allowed inside. After having read out the charges, the judge declared, that a deal had been agreed upon, stating that the sentence should not be over 20 months, should the defended admit to the charges that is. The confession included the blinding of the helicopter with the intention to support the riots in the Rigaerstraße. These charges can legally be met with 1-15 years in prison. With a simple “yes” under pressure, the sentence was set between 16 and 20 months.

Afterwards the pilot was called to the stand. Angelo Koepp is not only a pilot but also a great actor. Obviously, he had practiced his performance many times, to create dramatic scenes, in order for our friend to receive a harsh punishment. Without naming any sources, he talked about a long term disabled colleague, who allegedly after a similar attack still requires a reading aid. He also explains, that usually the helicopters are only equipped with one pilot. But as chance might have it, during all the laser pointer attacks, two pilots where on board to prevent a crash. Angelo was not shy about imagining catastrophic scenes in case of a helicopter crash by explaining how the 330 liters of kerosene, that where still in the tank could have created a monstrous fire ball. Strange, how when two helicopters collided at the Olympic stadium, no such fire ball could be seen, even though a lot more kerosene was in play then. Only the steep corner, with which the laser was pointed at the helicopter, prevented such a disastrous fire ball.

This way the pilots were able to follow Nero, arrest him and afterwards return to Rigaerstraße. Already before the shift that night, they had been told to expect attacks with laser pointers in the rigaerstraße. Just as well, since the helicopters have been terrorizing the neigbourhood for decades and it‘s not just the squatters who are fed up with it. Coming to an end, the witness was asked to name the number of operations carried out in the rigaerstraße. Relaying on a missing permission to testify, he refused an answer. After finishing his performance, Angelo joined the irritated visitors, to follow the rest of the trial. After that everyone agreed, that it was unnecessary to hear any more witnesses. Only one friend was heard from the judge. He stated
that Nero was staying at his place and was in fact not homeless but just one of the many people in this city in trouble of finding an apartment and being a worker has limited time to stand in an endless line at the Bürgeramt to officially register. Apart from a couple of stupid questions from the jury, there was nothing left to say and the judge retreated until the proclamation of sentence.

When the doors to room 101 opened again, all the cop witnesses had occupied the visitors seats, even though they were no longer needed. The three cops who had been in the helicopter and Mister Habedank, the director of LKA 5, who did not mind to show several visitors, that he knows exactly who they were. Everyone was excitingly awaiting the sentence. During the proclamation of sentence, the judge did not miss the chance to give a seemingly endless moral speech towards the audience. He integrated all the horror scenarios, that had been brought up by the pilot in his sentence. He agreed with the prosecutors demand of 18 months in prison, without parole, since that would only give Nero the chance to continue his fight against the police. We hope that he will fight this struggle in there, just as successfully as he did it out here. Lastly the judge decided against letting Nero out for a while before his sentence started. He also held another long moral speech before he proclaimed his decision, saying that since our friend did not apologize for his actions, there was danger for repetition and his missing rent contract was taken as a flight risk.
Therefore our friend is and will stay in prison.

Blow up the prisons, blow up the palaces, blow up the pigs!
