Indonesia: Anarchist comrade Eat released from prison

In early October 2011, anarchists Reyhart Rumbayan (Eat) and Billy Augustan were arrested and accused of arson on a bank ATM. In addition, an arrest warrant was issued against K., who is still at large —we wish the comrade to stay forever uncaught!

Eat and Billy, untamed and proud members of the Long-Live Luciano Tortuga Cell (Informal Anarchist Federation–Indonesia Section), claimed responsibility for the attack. They then underwent trial, and remained imprisoned for a little over a year.

Both comrades are now back onto the streets: Billy was released from prison in November, while Eat got released on probation in December. We wish them all the best.

Anarchist comrades Tortuga ($hile) and Billy (Indonesia) out onto the streets again

On November 19th, our comrades from ‘Viva La Anarquía’ transmitted that Luciano Pitronello received a definitive sentence of 6 years’ supervised freedom, after the Santiago Court of Appeals rejected the prosecutor’s motion for annulment of the first-instance trial. Therefore, Tortuga is no longer under house arrest, but will be under the supervision of a delegate of the Chilean gendarmerie who will make periodic evaluations of the comrade.

On November 22nd, our comrades from ‘325’ transmitted that Billy, proud member of the Long-Live Luciano Tortuga Cell/FAI, was also released from prison. Freedom now for comrade Eat!

Below are lyrics written by Eat, who is still serving prison time:

No need for you to bow. Silence is just for herds.
We are a pack of angry wolves hunting our prey at night.
We are a pack of angry wolves howling at the moonlit night.
Tear down – the void is always around. Let’s break these walls.
You and me got to be…
The intifada, coming from Gaza – black flags are rising.
Social war is here, civil war is everywhere.
Let’s break these walls. All of us got to be set free.

Greece: Letter of CCF member Olga Ekonomidou (in solitary confinement of Diavata prisons)

Saturday, June 2nd, 2012

In this moment I am writing these few lines from inside isolation; 30 days of solitary confinement is the price I pay for my refusal to sell out my dignity and obey the humiliation of a full body search, which would last 5 minutes.

I remain unrepentant in my decision. I won’t give away even a second of compromise to prison guards. I will not exchange my refusals and choices with the ‘warmth’ of a standard cell and the ‘liberty’ of yard time among the general prison population.

I’m not looking to become another normal statistic of an inmate who cringes before the prison service, who serves ‘quietly’ her sentence, who trips into hallucinations induced by wacko-pills, who forces herself as an ‘older rank’ on new-coming prisoners.

During my time in prison, I’ve seen the densely populated desert of the society of prisoners. Just like when I was free, now that I am within the walls I still remain a refuser of every society which is built by demolishing the ‘ego’, imitates its false idols by abolishing the authentic, survives by following its conventions. I refuse the lonely crowd that wears as face its feints because it bears no soul to become one’s self. I remain friend, comrade and human with all women and men who keep the fire burning inside them. With those women and men who choose the dangerous paths of wolves instead of sheep pastures.

When it comes to all of us, anarchists of praxis, imprisonment is never enough ‘punishment’. For this, disciplinary penalties, transfers and solitary confinements are due to come down.

Isolation is a prison within the prison. You remain 24 hours a day locked up in a cage with a bunk bed, an in-cell toilet and the vigilant eye of a closed-circuit camera (which I finally managed to cover with a sheet…).

Inside here, your only girlfriends are your thoughts and memories. Inside here, the days and hours are eliminated, lost, dying, pushing slowly each other…

But these 30 days of solitary confinement I was not left alone. I had some odd and charming visitors by my side that passed secretly and ‘smuggled’ their way into my cell, breaking the isolation.

There were the beautiful sound of gun shots by the Olga Cell FAI/IRF against the nuclear company’s scumbag Adinolfi (sisters and brothers, I THANK you for the smile you gifted me with), the unique noise from ANFO and dynamite explosions in Ecuador, in Bolivia (strength to the arrested comrades), in Peru, the pleasant news from the captive brothers of mine Eat and Billy in Indonesia (Eat, your words in your letter gave me courage and strength), the incendiary smokes by the new Conspiracy of Cells of Fire FAI/IRF-Greece (by your will and your actions, you show that nothing is over), the chanted slogans and voices of people in solidarity who held a gathering outside Diavata prisons, where I’m kept captive; there were all these gestures of substance, the texts, the posters, the sabotages (in Volos), the arsons, which have engraved on my mind and my heart a phrase with indelible colour: ‘SOLIDARITY between anarchists of praxis is not just words’…

30 days of solitary confinement and I go on, but the she-wolf inside me doesn’t sleep, doesn’t give consent, doesn’t forgive…

CCF be remanded in custody once again. Stella Antoniou was charged in the case too, but wasn’t remanded in custody again, and so is expected to be released at the end of the 18-month period of her first pretrial incarceration (in June 2012) while her 5th request for release on health grounds has not yet been answered’.
Let us remind that Stella is held in pretrial detention for 16 months already, with the possession of a fake ID as sole evidence against her.

Lublin, Poland: Direct action in solidarity with political prisoners across the world

translation from the Polish original:

Solidarity attack on ATMs

In the last days of March 2012, we attacked three ATMs with paint, each belonging to another bank.

The growing climate of state repression must meet with our overwhelming response. An uncompromising attack of the Capital, taking away from us the remaining social gains, can no longer remain unanswered.

Violence is an integral part of our lives, concealed behind a mask of abstract social relations; pushed to the ghettos of poverty, filling the prison cells, living in the slums of the ‘third world’. We have no illusions about it. Therefore, we will emerge from the darkness of the night and attack the state and capitalist targets, each time more violently and with a stronger belief in the rightness of our actions.

We also address those who are staying on the moderate positions and try to influence and censor different concepts of activity. Our dreams are illegal, we remain illegal. We have no place within the capitalist machine. Therefore we can’t find ourselves attending the next miserable demonstration or picket. We will not write down long-term and ideological plans. We will not ask the bosses and rulers for small concessions. We want an immediate change. We will look for each other, creating cells capable to provide adequate answers to our daily humiliation. We will attack regaining control over our own lives, smashing the established role of victim. We will fight for our place. With fire and dynamite.

This symbolic action, in particular, is dedicated to:

Our brother Tortuga, held in the dungeons of the Chilean State.

Lambros Foundas, murdered by the state mercenaries. He gave his life for his ideals and he deserves a boundless respect.

Billy and Eat, held by the Indonesian State.

Prosecuted fighters of the Revolutionary Struggle and the Conspiracy of Cells of Fire.

Stella Antoniou, who deals with illness, and all other political prisoners around the world.

Stay strong!
