Greece: Communiqué by Athens IMC administration assembly, 18.4.2013

We continue to respond in a political manner to the political decision toward censorship that all of the minions of Capital and totalitarianism undertook silently

On Thursday noon, April 11th, 2013 the rector of the National Technical University of Athens (Athens Polytechnic School), Simos Simopoulos, took the political decision to repress counter-information media by cutting off network access to Athens IMC (athens.indymedia.org) and 98FM self-organized radio station (Radiozones of Subversive Expression). He thus undertook the political responsibility to impose censorship and stifle the expression and free movement of ideas of all those who resist the contemporary fascistization and social impoverishment. Simopoulos—being the second Rector of Repression after Markatos, 18 years ago—decided to be the one to intervene in place of the state power, and what’s more, he undertook the role of mouthpiece facilitating the work of the Repression minister Dendias, the cops and the Nazis. Italy: Letter of Stefano Gabriele Fosco and Elisa Di Bernardo about solidarity with Culmine

CULMINE – To all those who love the revolt as a savage bush all their lives from their own roots.

In ‘our’ prison cells, perhaps with unavoidable delay, we receive news, updates, texts and communiqués for actions… We revel in them; these phrases are the lifeblood of us, they open up gold and red warm spaces in a world of submission.

They are a proof that solidarity is not just an empty word; they are a proof that the destructive impulse of liberation is necessarily stronger than any hope for change.

Various different actions spread like a storm of rebellion halfway around the world: from Argentina to Russia, from Spain to Chile, from Mexico to Greece!

When the stamp of censorship can succeed nothing more but remind us that there’s always a cage ready for whomever rejects the established order, those scattered leaves make our hearts beat faster as we read words of solidarity and complicity with all the kidnapped by the various States/dictatorships… And we’re only a couple of the very few individuals that are incarcerated alone here by the timeless Inquisition.

With these few words we want to tell you that we’re doing well and aiming at the moon, which we cannot see but we still listen to.

With this brief text of ours we wish to express our closeness to those who armed their own subversive fantasy dedicating direct actions to Culmine, the anarchist blog which was encaged on June 13th, 2012.

We want to extend our strengthful solidarity to all the dignified prisoners in struggle on the planet, and send a strong rebellious embrace to anarchists of praxis who expressed their solidarity with us by any means possible and in many corners of the world.

Athens, Free radio 98FM: Banner drop in solidarity with Indymedia Athens

The State has unleashed a frontal attack on society with all the weapons at its disposal, imposing itself on society by the growing impoverishment and the systematic attempt of embedding the Rule’s new fabricated arguments.

At the same time, there is an ongoing battle to repress and silence the voices of all those resisting and opposing this reality. The methodical and directed targeting of Indymedia Athens orchestrated by fascist circles is yet another part of this repressive operation.

We stand in solidarity with Indymedia Athens since we believe in and actively support the need for free and unmediated communication.

Piedmont/Tuscany: ‘Telecom Italia’, one of the biggest Italian Internet providers, blacks out two nodes of the global Indymedia network

Piedmont’s site is now accessible at piemonte.puscii.nl. Replace ‘indymedia.org’ with ‘puscii.nl’ in all links of the address to access its entire contents. Piedmont and Tuscany Indymedia are under preventive seizure, as Telecom Italia has already begun censoring both sites. Note that toscana.indymedia.org has already been down for technical and internal reasons since months. Get the background of this story here.
