Chile: Nataly Casanova moved out of isolation; Enrique Gúzman put in house arrest

Two of the demands put forward by anarchists Nataly Casanova, Juan Flores and Guillermo Durán, who are on hunger strike since the 13th/14th of April, have been achieved:

– Nataly Casanova was transferred into the 2nd wing of the San Miguel prison – where also comrade Tato (Natalia Collado) is being held – and receives visits twice a week. Unsurprisingly, the gendarmerie (Chilean prison service) stated that this had nothing to do with the hunger strike and the reason why Nataly’s transfer did not take place earlier was to ensure she would not be together with Tamara Sol Farías Vergara in the same wing – see update on transfer of Tamara Sol from San Miguel to the San Joaquin prison in Santiago.

The CAVJ/Anti-prison Collective Vuelo de Justicia report that, recently, Nataly Casanova demanded direct visits with Juan Flores, whom she’s not allowed seeing for months except in the same court hearings. The judges once again denied this request, in yet another attempt to suppress the relationship of affinity and love between the two comrades.

– On June 5th, Enrique Gúzman was released from the Santiago 1 prison and moved to total house arrest. Read all about it here.
