Spain – April 17th: Day of solidarity with prisoner in struggle Noelia Cotelo Riveiro

Day of solidarity with Noelia Cotelo, who has been held in solitary confinement, tortured, dispersed in the prison of Ávila. Sexually assaulted while handcuffed to the bed, attacked in the shower by ten male jailers, beaten up all over her body, beaten up in the genital area with her legs open by force, and suffering an eye and ear injury, cervical spine damage…

Medical neglect, educative inattention, windowless cells in winter time… They want to do away with rebellion and insubordination, they want to do away with the liberation of a female prisoner in struggle; all this with the complicity of doctors and the prison director.

On Wednesday, April 17th, the jailers will stand trial on their tortures, and a forensic doctor will examine her. They must understand that Noelia is not alone, but also Noelia needs to hear our voices, our love. If solidarity makes sense, it makes sense now. If the struggle makes us stronger, let’s come together and struggle.
