Athens: Responsibility claim for incendiary attack on police station in Exarchia

On Friday, December 13, 2013 we attacked the Exarchia police station [on Kallidromiou street in downtown Athens]. Approximately 40 comrades chased off the police guards, and reached the entrance of the police station, torching the front door, the guard booth, and police service vehicles. At the same time, another group of 30 comrades blocked the traffic and erected barricades nearby, on Charilaou Trikoupi street. As soon as the attack came to an end, we left the location all together without unexpected problems. Minutes later, DELTA motorcycle cops stormed the square in Exarchia, detaining completely randomly 84 people, who had nothing to do with the action, a raid which occurs every time an attack takes place in the wider area.

The action was carried out as a minimum response to the heavy policing and repression in the neighbourhood of Exarchia on December 6, 2013 [the 5th anniversary of the killing of Alexandros Grigoropoulos].

It is also dedicated to the anarchists on hunger and thirst strike in Koridallos prison, Fivos Harisis, Argyris Ntalios, Giorgos Karagiannidis, Dimitris Politis, Yannis Michailidis [the incendiary action took place before Babis Tsilianidis and Grigoris Sarafoudis announced they were joining the hunger and thirst strike, too].
