Shortly before the parliamentary elections of 2009, the anti-terror cops invaded the house of Haris Hadjimihelakis in Halandri (northern suburb of Athens), where they awaited him and arrested him. Three more people were arrested, P.Massouras, M.G. and his girlfriend. Hadjimihelakis, Massouras and M.G. were held in pretrial detention, accused as members of the Conspiracy of Cells of Fire. M.G. was released a few months later.
On 22 April 2010, Konstantina Karakatsani was arrested and got imprisoned due to warrant pending against her for the same case.
On 1 November 2010, Panagiotis Argirou (warrant pended against him too) was arrested in Pangrati along with Gerasimos Tsakalos, after the ‘parcels’ posting. These two along with Hadjimihelakis claimed political responsibility for their participation in the Conspiracy of Cells of Fire.
On 4 December 2010, G.Karagiannidis and A.Mitroussias were arrested and detained due to warrants pending against them for this case.
Thirteen people have been referred to the trial of 17 January 2011, four of which are still wanted.
The trial for this case will be held on Monday, 17 January, inside the walls of Koridallos prisons.
