Argentina: Introducing the International Anarchist Film Festival in Buenos Aires

Anarchist comrades have come up with a proposal to organize a film festival. The aim of the event will be encounter, interaction and debate around audiovisual production, critical of the reality that we want to destroy.

Making use, inevitably, of the technologies of the modern world, we recognize the importance of audiovisual production as a means of struggle in order to inform about issues that require our intervention, to spread anarchist struggles worldwide, and to document authoritarian relationships that permeate everyday life – including human relationships and our relationship with the Earth as a whole. We can expose the realities hidden by mainstream media – that mass media which numb our minds, manipulate the people, and monopolize all broadcasting to the absurd point of owning the air itself.

The festival will be held at the Ateneo Anarquista de Constitución (located on Brasil 1551, in Buenos Aires, Argentina) on the 18th, 19th and 20th of January 2013.

We invite all individuals or groups who create anti-authoritarian productions to send us your material (documentaries, video art, films, shorts, etc.) for screening at the festival. We must receive all material with an accompanying proposal (download the proposal form here) by December 31st, 2012 via mail or e-mail. Also, if you wish to attend the festival, please confirm by December 31st, 2012, so we can properly organize housing, food, and so on.
