In the city of Patras more than 5,000 demonstrators participated in the march of the general strike on June 15th that started from the central Olgas square. The popular assembly of Georgiou square also participated in the demo, as well as the movement Den Plirono (‘I won’t pay’), students, associations and parties of the extra-parliamentary Left, along with the block of the Anarchists’ Assembly against Wage Slavery aka ‘Ergaleioforos.’
Around 500 people joined the anarchist block which was the most dynamic and massive of the demo. There were two banners; the front one read ‘Revolution, the only solution for a world of equality, solidarity, freedom,’ and a side one: ‘Solidarity or fear – Common struggles of locals and immigrants.’
The march ended at Georgiou square where thousands of people remained for several hours. The collective project of speech and action Perasma (‘Passage’) set up a self-organized strikers’ café; their main slogan was: ‘Neither workers nor clients.’
