On Monday, March 28th, the following text was sent from inside the consulate of Chile in Athens (in Kifissia suburb), which was occupied for hours in a symbolic solidarity gesture to the Chilean anarchists that are persecuted with the anti-terrorist law for the ‘bomb case’:
Today, we occupy the consulate of Chile in Athens in solidarity to the nine imprisoned fighters accused on the ‘bomb case’ who are on hunger strike since February 21th, and to all those who were arrested on August 14th, 2010, for the same case in Chile.
Police raids in squats and social centres, persecutions based on comradely relations, fabricated evidence and charges differ only a bit from country to country, as they are States’ mechanisms and methods to suppress the voices of all those who resist against the brutality of Power.
In response to States’ attacks, we stand in solidarity with the struggling comrades going beyond borders, distances, and walls of prison cells.
We demand the immediate gratification of the Chilean hunger strikers’ claims:
1 Their immediate release.
2 An end to the legal fabrication and police frame-up.
3 Withdrawal of the anti-terrorism law (‘legacy’ by the dictator Pinochet), an end to anonymous witnesses, an end to the legal rule of unanimity voting.
4 An end to prolonged detentions, for the conducting of an inquiry and a direct fair trial.
Our thoughts go out to the comrades Andrea Urzúa, Camilo Pérez, Carlos Riveros, Felipe Guerra, Francisco Solar, Mónica Caballero, Rodolfo Retamales, Vinicio Aguilera, Omar Hermosilla.
We do not forget their struggle. With our fists raised, we send greetings and we wish them courage and strength until freedom.
THE PASSION FOR FREEDOM IS MIGHTIER THAN ALL PRISON CELLS
FORGETS THE STRUGGLE ITSELF
Comrades in solidarity
